WhatsApp is one of the most popular app used globally for messaging, with over two billion people recorded make use of it all over the world.

According to Mail Sport, in due time the app will stop working on three phones.

On the 5th of May happens to be the deadline for anyone using specifically Apple devices, that is to say that they won't be able to receive messages using the app. These affected Iphones Includes iphone 5s, iphone 6, and the iphone 6 plus.
Asides from this, any other devices running on the iOS 15.1 operating system will be supported.

“Every year we look at which devices and software are the oldest and have the fewest users. 
The reason for this results from the fact that these devices might not have the capacity for latest security update or abilities it takes to run WhatsApp according to the WhatsApp spokesman.

These devices also might not have the latest security updates, or might lack the functionality required to run WhatsApp,” a WhatsApp spokesperson said.

The oldest of the affected phones, the iPhone 5s, was released over a decade ago in 2013 while the most recent, the iPhone 6 Plus, was released just a year later in 2014.

All of these iPhone models were discontinued by Apple in 2016 and were officially declared obsolete.
