The court found Isaiah guilty of conspiracy, kidnapping, and murder, resulting in a death penalty for the murder, life imprisonment for kidnapping, and 21 years for conspiracy.
The case involved several charges related to Comfort's disappearance after she contacted her colleagues, saying she had been kidnapped and a ransom of N100,000 was demanded.
The authorities were able to track the kidnappers and found Comfort's body. Isaiah admitted to tying her up and poisoning her when the ransom was not paid.Justice Olalekan Olatawura declared that the prosecution proved its case convincingly and stated leniency was not appropriate.
Isaiah received a total of three different sentences for his crimes, and the judge ended with, "May God have mercy on your soul."
