An Ondo man has beheaded his teenage brother after physically assaulting him."

A tragic incident occurred in the agricultural community of Odigbo, located in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, where a 26-year-old man named Daniel allegedly took the life of his 17-year-old brother.

The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, as reported by a source. The suspect has been arrested and transferred to the state police command. According to the source, the suspect and the victim were siblings, and their father is a police officer in the community.

It was reported that the motive behind the suspect's actions against his brother remains unclear; however, some residents have expressed concerns about possible ritualistic elements involved in the case.

Another source reported that the suspect, after killing the victim, severed the head and placed it in a bag next to a river in the community.
Following the incident, community youth reportedly apprehended the suspect and took him to the town center, where he was beaten into a comatose state. It was reported that he died in the hospital on Wednesday morning.

According to a source, "After he was found with the head, he was taken to the town and assaulted." He was subsequently rescued and transported to the hospital, where he passed away this morning (Wednesday).

A local resident, Roland Akinkunmi, reported that an individual was attempting to cross the Origbara River to the opposite side of the community. He witnessed the suspect placing his brother's severed head into a bag and raised the alarm.

He stated, "I was near the palace when I heard people shouting from the Origbara area. When I went to investigate what was happening, I saw Daniel holding a human head. Initially, I did not recognize it as his brother's head because I was confused." "Daniel and Emmanuel are siblings, and their father is a well-respected police officer in this community.

We are all in disbelief. It is difficult to understand how someone could harm their own family member." They are not members of this community. We are still surprised by what might have led him to consider killing and beheading his own younger brother.

Some individuals residing nearby mentioned that the two had previously been involved in a typical sibling dispute. "However, we believe there is more to the situation. In this town, if anyone spills human blood for a money ritual or under any other circumstances, that individual will be immediately identified."

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Mr. Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that the matter has been reported and that the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adebowale Lawal, has directed an immediate investigation. "The case has been ordered to be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further and thorough investigation.

The Ondo State Police Command assures the residents of Ondo State that every effort will be made in this case," Ayanlade stated.
